Steven Weitzman has been drawing since he was a child, initially supporting himself as an illustrator through the commissions he received as well as his graphic and industrial designs. In the 1980s, while developing his fine art career, Weitzman simultaneously moved into the design and advertising industry, eventually starting his own advertising company. Weitzman’s drawing portfolio, a mix of both charcoal and pencil drawings, reflects his acute sensitivity to the human figure and natural landscapes while simultaneously demonstrating his expressive ability to abstract these familiar objects and compositions.
